
Afiq Rahimi is a well-rounded student and in his utmost enthusiasm to achieve success. He is a year-one Law student at Universiti Teknologi MARA. He was born and raised well in the city of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He has a great personality and possesses clear visions and integrity to become a successful individual. He visioned to galvanize interest in more people, especially youth to be politically and civically engaged in the community. The area of specialization is Human Rights Online where it has incited cyclical his best interest to dive deep into the realm of injustices suffered by people in around Asia Pacific economies. NetMission has helped him a lot to widen the scope and expose him to the issues suffered by the grassroots community in each region, which he aspires to elevate awareness on.

Aung Linn is a citizen of Myanmar and a final-year civil engineering student at Kyaukse Technological University. He lives in Kyaukse City from Mandalay Region, Myanmar. His internet governance interests are cybersecurity and safer internet access. He is an executive committee member of Kyaukse Youth Network, Leader of the United Youth Network(Youths Interfaith Network), currently working in Youths development and Community development sectors. His overseas experiences are alumni of Asia Young Leadership Program(AYLP 2021 Program), participant of Asia Youth Forum, participant of Peace Leadership Program by East-West Center(US), and participant of Asia Pacific Innovation Challenge 2021. He loves to travel, go to the gym, eat, read and build new networks.

Bawani Shashikala is from Sri Lanka and is a fourth-year student at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura studying ICT (Hons) in software technology. She is currently involved in community projects aimed at improving digital literacy and capacity building among Sri Lankans. Her areas of interest in internet governance include cybersecurity, privacy, and safer online access. She worked with the ICT Agency of Sri Lanka in the Project Management team on cybersecurity awareness programs, projects to improve digital literacy among the differently-abled community, and youth and women’s activities. She attended APSIG and APNG in 2021 as a student fellow and member of the ISOC-Sri Lanka Chapter’s executive committee. She enjoys traveling, volunteering, and networking with young people in the IG sector of the Asia-Pacific region.

Coco Hiu Lam Choi is currently studying the Professional Accountancy Program in CUHK, Chinese University of Hong Kong, as a year three student.

Dalili Nuradli is a passionate law reader, pursuing a Bachelor of Law LLB (Hons) in UiTM Shah Alam, Malaysia. She is 21 years and a proud Malaysian. She loves building connections, gaining knowledge, and simply gathering new experiences. Very active in organizing events and being the master of ceremonies. Most importantly, she proudly claims that Netmission Academy is the start of her Internet Governance journey and is anticipating greater opportunities for her to continue this journey. She looks forward to expanding her knowledge in Internet Governance and indulging further in her interesting topics; Cybersecurity, Diversity, and Sustainability in Internet Governance and Human Rights Online. The Internet should be a safe and accessible space and she believes that her involvement matters since even by a little, it will impact the future.

Dao Nguyen Tien is a senior student at Foreign Trade University in Hanoi, Vietnam. He majors in Economics and International Development with a steering focus on related topics of the sustainable economy. He used to serve in different roles on the university campus, including English Club, Sports Club, Incubator Programs, etc. He has interned in the role of Data Scientist as well as his to experience in social science research and qualitative analysis.
His strong desire is to contribute to society with his competency in the integrated combination of economics and emerging technologies. Currently. he seeks different approaches to resolve the problems of sustainability, especially in the online context. Therefore, Internet Governance is one of the main interests that he opts for in order to align with his orientation. The essential topics of Internet Governance that he found passionate about the most are the concept of Digital Economy and the implementation of state-of-the-art technology on the Internet, such as Blockchain, NFT, Metaverse, and the likes. With an ever-growing advancement of technology, it is an important role of international regulations and consensus to catch up with and harness its inner potential to the economy. He wishes the issues to be involved with as many levels of stakeholders as possible while embracing the youth voices in yIGF to be heard. NetMission Academy provides Tien with a great experience in Internet Governance discourse, as he would like to continue disseminating knowledge for the better of an inclusive online community.

Daria Stepovaya is an International Relations (IR) Ph.D. student at Lomonosov Moscow State University. All her academic career was devoted to International Relations. As IR is a pretty broad field of study, she took a particular interest in Cybersecurity and Information warfare. Though, her passion wasn’t fully established till her master’s degree studies at the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, with a major in International Security. However, she didn’t discover the existence of Internet Governance much later on. Her first acknowledgment of the subject was just a year ago—in 2021 when she accidentally saw a post about IG Summer school at Coordination Center for TLD RU/РФ. Successfully finished it, learned about NetMission Academy, decided to go for it. And the most exciting journey began. Her experience at the Academy was as knowledge-broadening as it could get. The whole participation left only positive feelings and triggered the desire to continue her odyssey in this field. Regarding the Internet-governance passionate issue—it didn’t change, it just got incorporated into a new field of affection.

Duong Le Thuy is studying Business English at Foreign Trade University. NetMission is a great place that provided her with profound knowledge about Internet policymaking, and help expand her network and improve her skills in working as a team. What appeals to her the most is the honest sharing of NetMission’s friends and guest speakers. These perspectives have inspired her in changing her mind about Internet issues in the world and also in her own country Vietnam.

Dziadatul Raudhah is a first-year degree student at Sunway University. Despite having an interest in fields such as politics, history, and economics, she has an interest in Internet Governance. After roughly being exposed to Internet governance, she decided to join the Netmission Academy to learn deeper on Internet-related topics. Internet access, human rights online, and cybersecurity are the top three topics that she thought are really important because everyone should have the opportunity to use the Internet equally, safely, and purposefully.

Khang Nguyen is an eager-to-learn student, currently finishing his Bachelor of Digital Engineering at Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology (SIIT), Thailand. He is a 20-year-old Vietnamese. His specialization lies in problem-solving, critical thinking, and the ability to learn and overcome problems such as bugs in programming. Aside from his education, he is a slightly introverted person who enjoys activities such as badminton, calisthenics to keep both physical and mental health while if indoor then he rather focuses on things such as reading, playing games, and sometimes just doing nothing but relaxing all day.

Lam Nha Truc (Maria) was originally in Tay Ninh – a province in the South of Vietnam but now she’s based in Ho Chi Minh City. Currently, She is a sophomore at Foreign Trade University, her major is International Business Economics. She plans to further her studies by pursuing a Master’s Degree in Business Administration degree in the same institution. She is interested in social affairs and truly wants to fulfill her responsibilities as a devoted citizen. The NetMission training sessions helped her understand various internet issues and were an eye-opening opportunity for her to explore the policies that Internet-related organizations implement when controlling cyberspace or addressing any relevant issues. As far as she is concerned, Internet governance comprises several issues: freedom, privacy, access to knowledge, and other aspects of the internet affecting human rights. When there is a chance, she does love to engage in courses and online webinars on privacy when using the Internet. What appeals to her most is that listening to other speakers’ perspectives inspires her to think in new ways, and the act of sharing ideas with others motivates her to think deeply about online issues on the Internet.

Lauren Lin is a year-3 student majoring in Financial Analysis from the Hang Seng University of Hong Kong. She has a wide range of interests while including philosophy, sociology, and politics. At the time she is studying at the university, she seized chances to develop her path in academia through engaging with different kinds of research. She is curious and passionate about cybersecurity, policymaking, and censorship on the internet, and aims to create a better cyber world that enhances human rights. As a freshman in internet governance, NetMission is the beginning of her Internet Governance journey. The most valuable experience of her is listening to different cases discussion via different backgrounds from presentations in the seminar. NetMission Academy provides her not an intensive knowledge-based environment to learn but introduces her to a new community to live in. It’s impressive that the concept of the NetMission and the way gather all the ambitious ambassadors together.

Luke Teoh Rong Guang is a 20-year-old, first-year BA (Hons.) English for Professionals student at Universiti Sains Malaysia. He interned at ASEAN Foundation as a Communications Intern before completing his Diploma in English with a 3.95 CGPA. He is deeply passionate about the digital language divide and how language can empower youths to fully utilize the internet as a learning tool. Also, he is interested in learning more about how we can make the internet a safer space by increasing awareness of cybersecurity and human rights online. Furthermore, he has previously been involved in efforts to assess digital literacy and digital citizenship in the ASEAN region. He enjoys reading and playing sports in his free time. He said that joining this academy has been a tremendous learning curve. The activities were well-planned and interactive. Additionally, he mentioned that the ambassadors were carefully guided by the admin, buddies, and guest speakers to reach their full potential. The program has equipped him with the relevant skills and knowledge to help shape a more sustainable and collaborative digital space.

Muhammad Hanis Qayyum Johari is a second-year Dietetic student from Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UNISZA) in Terengganu, Malaysia. He is very interested in healthcare, education, and how he can help people. Despite having taken a different course, he is always passionate about Internet safety and how it can be improved. He believes that learning and understanding internet governance can keep people away from threats online. Hanis is concerned about cybersecurity and digital economies because they will have a significant impact on the future. He also believes that the digital economy is the future, so little to more assurance is required to provide a safer place to rely on.

Atiqah Azrein is an enthusiastic success seeker and an avid law reader. She is currently a 2nd-year law student of Bachelor of Law (Hons) in Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). She is from Johor, Malaysia. With more than 8 years of experience in national and international active involvements, Atiqah is always active and passionate to venture into something exhilarating. Her interests in internet governance are human rights online, privacy, and cyber security. She has presented, facilitated, and did the case study together with her team to publish news about the recent human rights occurrence across the globe. Her passion for human rights online has always been in propinquity. She was surprised by the amount of knowledge she gained during Netmission sessions, she encouraged everyone to apply to be the next participant in the upcoming batch. “No matter at what age, what profession, what course or whatever that you are doing in life, the internet forms a part of our lives these days. Netmission is a positive life changer. Try it yourself !”, she said.

Omar Qayyum is a passionate and enthusiastic law student, Omar Qayyum Bin Hamdan is currently a second-year bachelor’s degree student who is currently studying at International Islamic University Malaysia. He is proudly Malaysian, from Malaysia, and currently residing in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He has been joining Netmission.Asia academy for 2022 cohort and explored so many new things which caught his interest to go deeper about internet governance, especially for human rights online, diversity, and sustainability in internet governance and emerging technologies. Throughout each training session of Netmission Academy, his main concern was about guidelines, regulations, and legal framework for a particular issue. He looks forward to understanding the legal framework of more emerging technologies and internet governance areas. “You don’t have to be great to start but you have to start somewhere to be great” were his words for the public considering the fact that he is also new to internet governance but Netmission had been a great platform for him to gain new knowledge and explore more about internet governance and he believes others could benefit from this academy too.

Qurra Tul Ain Nisar is from Islamabad, Pakistan. She is a 2nd-year law student. She intends to study cyber laws as her major in the future and is of the view that knowing about cyberspace and cybersecurity better can help her realize the need and application of laws in this space. She’s very hardworking and loves to learn new stuff. NetMission Academy was very beneficial for her in this regard as she learned a lot about cybersecurity, privacy, safer internet, and also many other interesting internet governance topics. Besides enjoying the informative sessions she also made friends from all over Asia through this academy.

Rounok Jahan Khan is a young activist, social entrepreneur, educator, and sustainable development Goals advocate from Dhaka, Bangladesh. She is passionate about youth empowerment, internet governance, quality education, community development, and environmental protection. She is a final year student of Economics at Jahangirnagar University and her current research focuses on Zero Waste Circular Economy (ZWCE) for environmental sustainability. Besides, she is working as Vice Director (Ambassador Program) at Fatima Al-Fihri Open University (FAOU), a non-profit international institution that promotes open access, open education, open science and supports the cause of non-profit education. She is also an advocate of Global Schools, a program initiated by the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN)-Youth. Rounok is most passionate about Cybersecurity, Privacy & Safer Internet. She feels that it is high time to take necessary steps to halt cybercrime and raise awareness around cybersecurity & privacy so that the internet becomes a safe place for every girl and woman. She believes that participating at NetMission Academy improved her knowledge, communication, and leadership skills in the Internet Governance sector. She was able to learn new strategies and the best sustainable practices which will be of great assistance in her future endeavors.

Sania Malik is 26 years old and a final year student in Masters in Computer Sciences at COMSATS University Islamabad. She is from Attock city of Pakistan. She is an intern at WANCLOUDS software house in Islamabad. She is experienced in Python, GOlang, Java and is a DevOps developer.
She attended NetMission Academy 2022 and explored various internet policies for remote communities. She said that the Guest speakers guide really well and helped a lot in widening her view to utilize her skills and to cope with the problems one can face in her field. She really enjoyed the training and the talks with buddies which helped her to enrich her knowledge about Human Rights. According to her, joining this academy is a great opportunity for her to know more about Access and Empowerment.

Siriracha Kaeoyong [s̄irīrachā kæ̂wh̄ỳxng] is a Thai UX/UI designer, co-front end Kotlin developer, lecturer, and coauthor on Digital Innovation field in Information Communication Technology Center at Department of Agricultural Extension. At the same time, she is studying in the First year of Agricultural Business at Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University. She specializes in multimedia technology, writing, and multitasking skills with 1 published academic thesis, 1 e-book and Moodle online course for government officers, and 1 handbook for Thai Farmers. Siriracha has more health problems with major depressive disorder, but her attitude is positive and finds the way to get good motivation by helping friends and her communities, reading books, home decorating, organizing and interior designing, and meditating sometimes to get a good vibe with a good smelling soy wax candle.

Sourojit Dutta is a 1st-year student who’s pursuing his Master’s in Linguistics from Deccan College of Post Graduate and Research Institute in Pune, India. He also possesses a deep curiosity for Psychology and wants to understand how the internet is shaping the thoughts of human beings; how it’s affecting them psychologically. His participation in the Net Mission Academy has ushered him into the world of internet governance, exposing him to different policies and issues regarding the internet that he was unaware of before.Net Mission’s allowance in constantly asking questions and challenging different sets of ideas has helped him a lot in the aspect of critical thinking. He believes that the internet must be made as safe as possible. He believes that “the light of the internet’s safety and accessibility should not be dimmed for any or all”.

Stella Anne Teoh Ming Hui is a 23-year-old Penangite, and final year student at Universiti Utara Malaysia studying Philosophy, Law and Business (BA Hons.). Her personal pursuits reflect her interdisciplinary interests. Currently, she is a content curator at the Malaysian Philosophy Society and recently elected Secretary of the Internet Society Malaysia Chapter. Her previous involvements in Internet Governance include being an IGF Youth Ambassador 2021 and YouthxPolicyMakers Ambassador 2021. Keenly interested in research, she has explored ASEAN youth’s digital literacy and digital citizenship. Her enthusiasm for translation is tied to her multilingual abilities and love for literature. Her academy experience was an exciting eye-opener, especially since it broadened her network of Asia Pacific youths involved in Internet Governance. She concurs that hands-on experience in tackling or discussing Internet Governance issues is invaluable and this program is a platform to do just that. “Diverse, Interdisciplinary and a Stellar experience – DIS is my NetMission Academy experience.”

Tahmina Akter Supti is a 3rd-year Law student at Southeast University. She is from Gazipur City of Bangladesh.
Tahmina is passionate about joining different activities such as volunteering in programs related to social and educational activities, and human rights. She is the project leader of a youth empowerment project. She has an interest in the 2030 SDGs goals, which became her basic pillars in finding and joining opportunities. She is currently a part of the NetMission Academy 2022. The NetMission training sessions helped her understand various internet issues and were an eye-opening opportunity for her to know more about Internet governance. She found Netmission academy is a great opportunity for the youth to enrich their knowledge about Internet Governance.

Tse Liang is a junior year student majoring in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) at National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan. Currently, he serves as an NTHU Youth Ambassador (2020-2022) and a board member in Taoyuan City Government Youth Advisory Committee (2020-2022).
With his active engagement in eco-innovation and sustainability, Tse Liang was selected as a delegate and highly recognized with his leadership as a group leader attending in virtual 2021 Youth Ecosperity Dialogue hosted by Singapore Management University, and thus was honorably invited to join the Temasek Foundation Youth Alumni.
Tse Liang is keen on Internet Governance topics especially the digital economy & emerging technologies, and cybersecurity, privacy & safer Internet. As an EECS major, he was mostly excited with updated innovations and regulations of emerging blockchain, cryptocurrency, NFT, and metaverse, which brought hot discussions within Netmission Academy. As a NetMission Ambassador, he’d urge to spread awareness and alert of DNS abuse, and empower the public users who have the right to defend themselves against DNS abuse for a safer Internet.

Wan Hafiz Irshad is a multi-talented third-year medical student at Universiti Sains Malaysia. He is a photographer by passion, a financial market trader by profession, and actively involved in spreading awareness among the Malaysian community regarding cryptocurrency, blockchain, and NFTs. Throughout his involvement in the scene, he had conducted free open classes for people from Southeast Asia, and the total number of students he had taught is nearly 1000 in cumulative. Other than that, he spearheaded the effort of building an NFT community revolving around one of the biggest NFT marketplaces in Southeast Asia; Pentas.io. He gave constructive consultations to numerous NFT projects. During the Netmission Academy, he was really immersed in the discussion regarding cybersecurity and emerging technologies as he is a true believer in innovations that can change peoples’ lives. The whole two months of the academy was an extremely precious and memorable experience for him as he had interacted with numerous prominent figures across the globe. Other than that, the bond that was formed with his batchmates is also inseparable in nature. For Hafiz, NetMission is a life-changing experience that changed him for the better.
