Ahmad Umair Suhaidi, a respected academic in the field of computer science with a focus on cybersecurity, is a proud alumnus of the esteemed National University of Malaysia (UNITEN). His journey into the realm of Internet governance began when he was honored with a fellowship to the Asia Pacific Internet Governance Academy 2023 in Seoul, South Korea. This sparked a deep and undeniable interest in Internet governance within Umair. In October 2023, he was given the opportunity by Open Development Cambodia to give a keynote speech at the inaugural Cambodia’s Youth Internet Governance Forum, where he spoke on the topic of “Navigating the Digital World: Unpacking Online Risks & Building Digital Resilience.”

Umair’s primary interest lies in tackling cybersecurity issues among a host of other Internet governance-related matters. He firmly believes in the possibility of a secure Internet experience that doesn’t compromise privacy.

Alya Rezal, a dedicated professional from the bustling city of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, possesses a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with Honours. Currently serving as a tax industrial trainee at Ernst & Young, she specializes in international corporate tax advisory, demonstrating a keen aptitude in achieving greater heights within the field and beyond. In 2021, Alya kickstarted her journey into the realm of Internet governance, landing the esteemed role of Internet Society’s IGF Youth Ambassador. This experience ignited her passion for advocating digital inclusivity, particularly emphasizing the representation of diverse linguistic identities. She understands that facilitating diverse linguistic representation not only fosters language justice but also enhances overall cybersecurity measures. Alya’s commitment to this cause led her to immerse herself further within the Internet governance community, actively participating in notable events such as APrIGF and yIGF in Brisbane, Australia. Her dedication and involvement led to her selection as a fellow of NetMission Academy, solidifying her position as youth’s voice in discourses surrounding Internet governance.

Ankita Rathi is an India-qualified lawyer currently engaged with the Lok Sabha Secretariat, Parliament of India. She assists the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Communications and Information Technology. She has a deep passion for public policy and an interest in issues at the intersection of technology and social justice. Previously, she has honed her research and analysis skills at prestigious Indian law firms like S&R Associates, PSL Advocates & Solicitors, and Indus Law. At the NetMission Academy, she equipped herself with in-depth knowledge of Internet governance issues such as fragmentation, Internet regulation, and other critical areas like cybersecurity, privacy, online human rights, digital access & empowerment. She also contributed to the OHCHR Call for Input on the Solutions to Promote Digital Education, UNESCO GEM Consultation and the APPO Policy Review Report. Separately, she is also an Advocacy Assembly Internet Shutdown Scholar where she is focussing on access-related challenges including fragmentation and Internet shutdowns.

Ashikur Rahman Shunno is an accomplished graphic designer & developer with over a decade of experience in the tech industry. He is 23 years old and currently resides in Dhaka, Bangladesh. For his contribution, he got the OWS NATIONAL TECH AWARD 2023.

Ashikur Rahman Shunno received his Bachelor’s degree in Physics from Bangladesh National University, where he gained a solid foundation in computer science.

His journey began in the Internet Governess Forum when he joined the Bangladesh Youth Internet Governance Forum 2022. After that, he was fully involved in this field & started to learn more. He got a fellowship Bangladesh School of Internet Governance Forum 2023. Also, work as a technical person in BIGF & Bangladesh Youth IGF 2023. For his dedication & activities, he was directed by a committee member of Bangladesh Youth IGF. Now, He is working on cybersecurity, Emerging Technology, and Artificial intelligence.

Asifa Nasiry, a 24-year-old from Afghanistan, currently resides in Baluchistan, Pakistan. She studied planning and educational policy at Kabul University. In the past, she has been actively involved in various organizations: for two years with the student council of her school, one year with the Kabul University Association, six months with the Kabul University Dormitory Association, and three months with SA TV. Additionally, she has dedicated more than a year to ATS and three months to working on identifying the root problems of Jaghori schools over two years. These days, she remains occupied with teaching at the ATS educational center. However, she also stays engaged in e-commerce and collaborates with a public service charity organization.

Ateeb Tahir, a senior year student pursuing Electrical Engineering at UET Lahore, hails from Pakistan. Currently serving as the Vice President at IET On Campus UET, Ateeb specializes in Computer Architecture and Networks. Throughout the NetMission Academy journey, he gained valuable insights into ICANN policymaking, cybersecurity, and TLDs, enriching his understanding of Internet governance. Beyond acquiring knowledge, his commitment extends to contributing to the technological development landscape.
Known for his eagerness to explore new boundaries and embark on adventures, Ateeb is not only a student but also a passionate tech enthusiast. His advocacy extends to promoting technological development within Pakistan. Beyond academics, Ateeb finds joy in traveling and exploring new places, embodying a well-rounded approach to life that combines academic pursuits with a spirit of exploration and a commitment to advancing technology in his home country.

Aviral Kaintura is a dynamic and forward-thinking technologist from India, currently pursuing a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Cybersecurity at the National Forensic Sciences University in New Delhi, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Data Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. He leads the Google Developer Student Club at his university and is invested in fostering a safe, secure, and inclusive digital environment. Aviral is an advocate for Internet governance and emerging technologies.

His academic pursuits include contributions as an active open-source contributor, an inSIG (India School of Internet Governance) and YIGF Asia Fellow, and a member of the ISOC Delhi Chapter. He is keenly interested in the development of internet security policies, data protection, privacy, and the governance of technologies like AI.

Barkha Manral, an accomplished professional from India, is currently engaged in the IT industry while concurrently pursuing a master’s degree in computer science. Her academic journey includes a prior master’s degree in public administration and an undergraduate degree in life sciences from Ramjas College, University of Delhi.

She has participated as a fellow in ICANN 78 held in Hamburg, Germany, and is set to join ICANN 80 as a fellow in Kigali, Rwanda. Barkha is deeply involved in the YIGF-India community. With a diverse skill set encompassing various technologies such as VMware vCenter, HCI, and SSL certificates, she brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her endeavors.

Caresse Tan is a data management trainee currently residing in Selangor, Malaysia. Prior to kickstarting her career in 2024, she completed her Bachelor of Computer Science (Honors) dual degree with Taylor’s University Malaysia and the University of the West of England (UWE). Caresse’s endeavor into the tech industry was sparked by her recent achievement as a Top 3 Finalist in L’OrĂ©al’s global innovation competition, Brandstorm 2023. Her team explored the potential of Augmented Reality (AR) in facilitating packaging recyclability while simultaneously elevating the consumer retail experience. This accomplishment ignited a deep-seated curiosity in the transformative potential of emerging technologies for social and environmental benefit.

Charlotte Fang Hendro, hailing from the city of Sydney, Australia, is a passionate advocate for digital rights, currently pursuing a dual Bachelor’s degree in Laws and Data Science at the University of New South Wales. Alongside her studies, she serves as the President of the UNSW Women in Technology Society, dedicated to empowering and upskilling females in STEM fields. Last year, Charlotte embarked on her internet governance journey by participating in ICANN’s APIGA program. This experience ignited a spark, leading her to further delve into the topic at the 2023 APrIGF and yIGF in Brisbane and further join as a contributor for APrIGF’s 2023 Synthesis Document. Recognizing the profound impact of internet governance on individuals and society, Charlotte joined NetMission Academy to deepen her understanding and contribute to shaping a more just and equitable digital space.

Fahad Iqbal is originally from Lodhran but is currently residing in Islamabad. He is
a cybersecurity professional and holds a master’s degree in information security. He is currently working as an ISMS Auditor at a private organization in Pakistan. Previously, he played a key role in PISA-CERT Pakistan where he organized meetings and training programs for Law Enforcement Agencies. He was also responsible for international collaborations and coordination between other regional and international CERTS such as OIC-CERT, AP-CERT, Oman-CERT, and My-CERT. Presently, he serves as the General Secretary of the Internet Society Pakistan Islamabad Chapter. He is privileged to be
an MSG (Multi-stakeholder Steering Group) Member for APrIGF (Asia Pacific
Regional Internet Governance Forum) and an Ambassador of Goal 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) at SDGs Academy Pakistan. Among his notable achievements are the APSIG-APrIGF Fellowship 2022 in Singapore, participation in ICANN 75 in Malaysia, and being selected for the APRICOT Fellowship in Thailand. These experiences have further enriched his understanding of global issues and perspectives in the realm of information security and Internet governance.

Hamza Ahmad, a second-year electrical engineering student at the University of Engineering and Technology Lahore, hails from Lahore, Pakistan. Beyond his academic pursuits, Hamza actively engages in various societies, including the Attorney Development Club Society in Punjab University, where he advocates for human rights both at court and debate levels. Additionally, he is involved in the Cyber and IP Association (CIPA), where his mission is to safeguard intellectual property rights. Furthermore, Hamza participates in IEEE UET Lahore and the IET Society, furthering his engagement in technological and engineering communities.
His interest in technology aligns with his deep concern about human rights violations, especially in Balochistan, Pakistan. Hamza’s interest in online advocacy ignited during the 2024 Pakistani elections when he witnessed internet access restrictions and online platform limitations, raising concerns about transparency and information flow. This experience, coupled with his awareness of human rights issues in Balochistan, motivated him to seek solutions.

Ho Thi Kim Hang, hailing from Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam, is an exemplary student majoring in Global Economics with a minor in Business Intelligence in South Korea. Awarded the prestigious Government Korean Scholarship (GKS), Kim’s academic excellence extends to an enriching exchange at Zhejiang University, where she delved into Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), showcasing her commitment to global sustainability.
In her professional journey, Kim Hang has effectively utilized her expertise in data analysis and market research across roles, including Market Research Associate and Data Analytics Extern. Her work reflects a profound dedication to leveraging technology and economic insights for societal betterment.

Jack Kelliher is a student from New Zealand engaged in his studies at the Auckland University of Technology, where he is working towards a Bachelor of Computer and Information Sciences. His academic focus is on Networks & Cybersecurity and Data Science, areas he believes are crucial for understanding and improving internet safety and functionality.

Jenie Fernando, from Sri Lanka, is a passionate advocate for technology with a creative mindset. Currently pursuing a BSc in Computer Science at the University of London, Jenie is also making strides as an intern at the Information and Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA) within the Digital Economy team, focusing on youth freelancing programs and projects aimed at improving digital literacy among citizens, and women empowering programs.

Jenie’s fervent interest in internet governance revolves around the concept of the digital economy and emerging technologies. She is passionate about promoting digital literacy and cybersecurity awareness for a safer online experience. She is dedicated to advancing technology adoption for citizens, striving to make the benefits of the digital landscape accessible to all.

Jose Carmelo B. Cueto is a government employee in the Philippines. JC advocates for cyber resiliency and data privacy rights of Filipinos whilst pursuing his 2nd master’s degree in Cybersecurity at Holy Angel University. This field gave him the courage to serve as Secretary of the Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines Batangas Chapter and is actively proposing the creation of a Cybersecurity Society group within the Electronics profession. His Internet governance activities started through the Switch! Program of the APNIC Foundation in the Philippines. This program helped him acquire various certifications and skills, which helped him land in various endeavors related to the IG field in the Asia-Pacific region such as APRICOT, APIGA, and APrIGF/yIGF in 2023. Similarly, he was also chosen as one of the Philippine Delegates for the ASEAN Youth Conference 2023 and Asia Pacific Next Generation 2024 where his contributions made his team win the best proposal/project during activity pitching, respectively.

Khushbakht, hailing all the way from Pakistan, a lively senior at the University of Engineering and Technology, pursuing a Bachelor’s of Electrical Engineering. Having no prior knowledge about the program and then being introduced to the dynamic world of NetMission Academy through alumni, Khushbakht’s passion for internet governance and data privacy ignited. Alongside engineering pursuits, Khushbakht weaves magic with design, art, content writing, and a tad bit of love for photography, infusing each creation with boundless creativity. With an innate ability to make the ordinary enchanting, Khushbakht’s profile radiates with warmth and creativity.

Maryam Khalid is a dedicated student hailing from Lahore, Pakistan. Pursuing her BS in Digital Forensics and Cyber Security from Lahore Garrison University. Maryam demonstrates a strong passion for unraveling the complexities of digital crimes and safeguarding online systems and information. While continuing to empower women towards a digital life cycle where they can learn, earn and stay safe on the Internet.

Ming Thet Paing is a sophomore studying Statistics and Data Science at Parami University. He is a Burmese youth living in Yangon. He has also joined short-term exchange programs in foreign universities, such as the University of Nebraska Omaha, the National University of Singapore, and Singapore Management University. He is greatly interested in data science, data governance, youth empowerment as well as creating a sustainable and inclusive internet.

He is currently on the journey of empowering students who are interested in data science as a vice president of a student-led club called Datalliance Club. As a part of the club activity, he also participated in a project, Data 4 Impact, to empower youths by enhancing their understanding of the role and use of data literacy in everyday life.

Monty Daley, based out of Auckland, New Zealand, Monty Daley is a determined advocate for addressing internet governance issues. Currently pursuing a Conjoint Bachelor of Commerce with majors in Finance and Accounting, alongside a Bachelor of Computer Science at the University of Auckland, Monty’s academic trajectory reflects his passionate approach to understanding the complexities of the digital era.

As an Innovation Manager at Netsafe NZ, a prominent digital harm charity, Monty leads efforts to combat online threats and promote digital safety. With a strong focus on AI & data-driven solutions, Monty devises innovative strategies to protect users from digital harm, leveraging his emerging expertise to mitigate risks and enhance online security measures. Beginning his journey as an attendee of the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) in 2023, Monty hopes to contribute to shaping global Internet policies and standards, while advocating for a safer and more inclusive online environment.

Muhammad Imran Haider, an enterprising individual based in Lahore, Pakistan, stands as the esteemed proprietor of his flourishing publishing enterprise. Guided by a keen sense of innovation and astute business acumen, he has adeptly navigated the intricacies of the publishing industry. Imran’s academic foundation includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Business Management from the prestigious Lahore School of Economics.
Imran had interned at the Research & Planning Wing at The National Assembly of Pakistan. His insightful policy recommendations related to tax management were not only endorsed but also integrated into Pakistan’s economic agenda, showcasing his impact on national policymaking. Imran is passionate about narrowing the digital divide and enhancing internet accessibility and safety for individuals across Pakistan and beyond.

Nawal Munir, from Pakistan, is currently studying for her undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore. Her involvement in various activities outside her academic pursuits showcases her dynamic personality and commitment to making a difference. She holds the position of Director of Social Media at Kaar-e-Kamal, a welfare organization, where she uses her skills to help others. Additionally, as the Chair of the Program Team in IEEE, Nawal plays a pivotal role in promoting technology and education. She is also a general member of the UET Model United Nations Society, reflecting her interest in global issues.

Noor Ul Aaien, a mechatronics engineer who graduated from the University of Engineering and Technology in Lahore, has lived in various cities across Pakistan before making her home in the vibrant heart of Punjab, Lahore. Her passion for contributing positively to her country shines through in everything she does. An enthusiast for travel, cinema, and yoga, Noor seeks to blend her interests with her professional goals.

Noor Ul Ain Siddiqui is a passionate advocate for the synergy between economics and business management, supported by a solid degree in the field. Her journey has taken her through the realms of marketing, content writing, and business development. With a talent for crafting engaging narratives and a strategic mindset, she has orchestrated successful marketing campaigns, forged impactful partnerships, and contributed to business growth. Her skill set includes data analysis, market research, content strategy, relationship building, and project management. Curiosity, adaptability, and collaboration drive her approach, and she is always seeking opportunities to leverage her skills and experiences to drive exponential business growth.

Nur Adlin Hanisah Shahul Ikram is a Ph.D. candidate in Data Privacy and Security Laws at the International Islamic University Malaysia. As a prolific researcher, she has authored a textbook, “Cryptocurrency and Digital Assets Law in Malaysia” and has won several best paper awards. Her work experience includes being a research assistant for a project under the Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (SUHAKAM) and an editorial assistant for the IIUM Law Journal. Adlin possesses excellent organizational skills and has successfully managed multiple academic projects and volunteering events. She has completed the IIUM Global Leadership Training Program in the United Kingdom, where she received training to become a well-rounded global leader. Adlin’s journey into Internet governance began when she was chosen as a NexGen ICANN75. From that moment on, Adlin’s passion for understanding and shaping the landscape of Internet policy ignited.

Paolo Miguel Ordonio is the Deputy Executive Director of Break The Fake Movement, a civil society organization in the Philippines that promotes Media and Information Literacy (MIL) through initiatives that promote responsible digital citizenship and combat information disorder. He is a Licensed Professional Teacher and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Development Communication at the University of the Philippines-Los Baños. His passion for advocating MIL began when he joined the government workforce as a Project Development Officer, where he provided media literacy education to Filipino children, adults, educators, and underserved sectors. He works as a community development worker, providing guidance and formation to empower the youth and women’s sector. His expertise extends also to project management, gender and development, teaching, and facilitation.

Prerna Chhetri, originating from the Kingdom of Bhutan, is pursuing a Bachelor of Engineering in Information Technology at the Royal University of Bhutan. Prerna’s educational journey is not merely about acquiring technical expertise but about leveraging such expertise to effect positive change, particularly in empowering women and children in the digital age. Prerna’s academic and career objectives are closely tied to her interest in addressing Internet governance issues, with a specific focus on promoting digital literacy, safeguarding privacy, and ensuring the equitable use of technology to benefit the broader society.

Rida Ashfaq is from Islamabad, Pakistan. She is Currently, doing MS in Information Security from NUST. As a graduate from the NetMission Academy (NMA) 2024, she has had the opportunity to learn from experts in the field. She’s gained valuable experience working with reputable organizations such as Rohde & Schwarz, Siemens, One Network, and the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority. At PISA-CERT Pakistan, she played a crucial role in collaboration and coordination with cybersecurity teams around the globe. Her active involvement in PISA-CERT Pakistan and Cyber Secure Pakistan highlights her commitment to enhancing internet safety.

Sameer Gahlot currently holds a master’s degree from the University of Delhi and is a qualified Company Secretary (equivalent to ICSA, UK NARIC, and MACS) while working with the National Internet Exchange of India (Internet Governance Division | MeitY). Presently, he resides in India and deals with Internet governance-related issues. His interest area(s) includes emerging technologies (such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, cryptocurrency, and FinTech) that have the potential to advance and make progress toward a sustainable digital future.

Samra Shakeel is a third-year undergraduate student pursuing Software Engineering at the University of Gujrat from Gujrat, Pakistan. She is enthusiastic and passionate about AI, Cybersecurity, and Game Development. She wants to help bridge the digital divide in his local community and help make the Internet a safer place for everyone. Samra is an entrepreneur, and she is working on her Startup under the National Expansion Plan. She was a Runner-Up in the Prime Minister National Innovation Award and won 1.5 Million funding for her startup. She is also working as a content writer, social media head, graphic designer, and influencer in various firms. She is also an alumnus of yIGF 2023 Brisbane, Australia.

Sanduni Sathsara is an instructor at the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University in Sri Lanka. Her dedication extends beyond lecturing, embracing practical sessions and administrative duties, enriching the academic landscape. She is passionately engaged in postgraduate studies and research, particularly in the cutting-edge fields of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Her research interests are deeply rooted in the realms of Cybersecurity, focusing on Data Hacking, and the implications of Emerging Technologies like AI-driven tools. Additionally, she is devoted to exploring Content Regulation issues, especially concerning sexual harassment.

Socheata Sokhachan, originating from the vibrant city of Phnom Penh, Cambodia, is currently immersed in her pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Management of Information Systems at Paragon International University. In addition to her academic endeavors, Socheata plays a pivotal role as a consultant in an NGO and holds a part-time position in a private tech company. Her multifaceted involvement extends to serving as an organizing committee member for YIGF Cambodia. She participated in events such as the APNIC56 fellowship, IGF 2023, APAN57, and Asia Pacific Next Generation 2024. Notably, Socheata’s contributions led her team to win the best proposal/project award during activity pitching at the respective events.

Songo Nore, from Kugumo Village in Ward 6 Kafentina Constituency (LLG) of Henganofi District in the Eastern Highlands Province of Papua New Guinea, currently serves as an Executive Officer (Technical Advisor/Consultant) to the Inaugural Chairman of the Communications and Information Technology Board for Morobe Provincial Government. He drafted the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Policy 2023 for Morobe Province and is the Principal of SNOB Consultancy, a local firm in PNG. Currently, he is undergoing a fully funded one-year-six-month cybersecurity training and research program with Monash University Australia’s Information Technology Department, partnered with Oceania Cyber Security Centre, sponsored by the US Department of State. He holds a post-graduate BA Honours Degree in Public Policy Analysis and a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Sciences from the University of Papua New Guinea.

Tejaswita Kharel is a lawyer from Kathmandu, Nepal. She graduated from National Law University Delhi in 2021. She is an early career researcher hailing from Nepal and currently working at the Centre for Communication Governance at the National Law University Delhi, India. Her research focuses on data protection, privacy, and emerging technologies such as blockchain and she is interested in aspects of privacy, free speech & expression as well as internet governance. She is keen to work towards creating an open, safe, free, and rights-protecting digital space for all people across the globe.

Trinh Thuy Xuan Thao, from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, is currently a pre-service teacher, an educational researcher in Primary Education at Ho Chi Minh University of Pedagogy and a passionate advocate for youth empowerment and believes that youth have a vital role in shaping the future of the Internet.
Last year, Thao had the opportunity to attend a scientific seminar in Vietnam which was about technology and improving access to quality online educational resources. This experience leads her to further deepen her insight into digital rights, digital content, and research.

Yukako Ban is a multifaceted professional specializing in educational program development and learning design, with a keen focus on cultivating next-generation leaders. At Tiger Mov, a Tokyo-based education startup, she spearheads core projects that utilize project-based learning to advance Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) among high school and university students. With a Master’s from Wits University, South Africa, her distinguished thesis examined the complexities of identity thresholds. She also holds a BA from the International Christian University, Tokyo. Her prior experience includes strategic consulting for public sector clients across Japan and Southeast Asia with Hitachi.
Now residing in South Africa, Yukako is an advocate for human rights digital diversity and inclusion. Her insights into Internet governance and the Multistakeholder model fuel her commitment to bridging the gap between the digital realm’s potential and its current state. Beyond her professional pursuits, Yukako’s life is enriched by yoga, dance, and a profound appreciation for the arts.

Yuvraj Singh has an undergraduate degree in Business Economics and is currently a final-year student at IIFT pursuing a Master’s Degree in Economics. He has volunteered with the United Nations Development Coordination Office (UNDCO), to assist in preparing the pilot common country analysis, having worked on the trajectory of growth and current status of the Sustainable Development Goals of the Nations, ‘Central African Republic’, ‘Somalia’ and ‘Ghana’.

He has studied as well as worked in the area of socio-economic development in Africa and India, especially on the education of school kids and financial inclusion. For example, while in Africa, He had interned with the largest sub-Saharan microfinance project and taught Nigerian school students.

Zainab Ayub is an accomplished professional with a diverse educational background and a wealth of experience in the fields of engineering, business administration, and logistics. After graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) in Lahore, Pakistan, she went on to obtain a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) in Karachi. Currently employed as an OTC (Order to Cash) Logistics Specialist at Mondelez International, Zainab’s expertise lies in optimizing supply chain operations and ensuring seamless logistics processes within the organization. She harbors a deep passion for cyber security and is dedicated to promoting responsible online behavior, particularly concerning the exposure of content to minors, and educating individuals about the importance of digital safety and privacy in today’s interconnected world.
